"Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, Involve me and I will understand"

Nurture

Like a flower uses sunlight, water  and carbon dioxide to grow. Our voices need constant well balanced nurture over time to remain in good condition. As the leaves have their stem, singers have their body. Body is the essence to achieving  good vocal technique. The challenge of a good singer is to work hard and remain relaxed. This paradox is essential and applies to all vocal styles. Throughout my teaching I nurture this through the use of exercises to create long term habits that as well as help you develop your voice, more importantly help you to preserve it.

Styles

Although being classically trained I have since the age of 7 performed pop, rock, soul, R and B, Jazz and Music Theatre. I am able to improvise on the guitar and the piano and can quickly learn new songs in order to support my students needs.

Musicianship/Sight Singing

This is an area that many singers have to work hard to develop. As well as providing grade 1-8 theory lessons, help with GCSE and A-Level work, I also am able to help you improve your sight singing. If you belong to a choral society/choir or just want to develop this I can help you to build your confidence and feel more secure when approaching unseen music.

You

Your singing lessons should be about what you want to achieve. You can move at whatever pace you are comfortable with, work towards whatever exams you chose to.

Enjoyment is the key and confidence comes from feeling connected to the music.
